ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s federal government on Sunday has decided stoppage of air strikes on militants’ hideouts in the tribal belt of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) continued since Taliban’s aggression by killing 23 FC officials.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a special consultative session with the federal interior minister
and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif; and reached the decision to stop air attacks on militants’ hideouts in NWA, local media reported.
The decision was made after announcement came forward from the banned militants’ outfit, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), regarding unconditional ceasefire before Pakistani authorities.
According to media report, it is expected the decision will be formally announced today Night.
In this regard high level meeting in the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has continued in Model Town Lahore. Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed and high officials of the government are also attending the meeting.
