Eva Mendes Set to Star in Ryan Gosling's Directorial Debut — REPORT
They've already starred together in Funny or Die's hilarious Drunk History retelling of The Night Before Christmas, the upcoming crime thriller The Place Beyond the Pines, and the waking nightmare of every hopeful single woman in America. It seems real-life couple Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes will once again
be teaming up for a big screen project, which just so happens to be Gosling's upcoming directorial debut How To Catch a Monster.

According to Bloody-Disguisting.com, Mendes, as well as actor/musician Rob Zabrecky, will join Ben Mendelsohn and Gosling's Drive co-star Christina Hendricks for the fantasy film, which Gosling also wrote, set in "a vanishing city and centered on a single mother [Hendricks] of two being swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town." Mendes is supposedly playing a character named Cat, a member of something called "the Big Bad Wolf Club." (Hollywood.com reached out to Mendes' rep for confirmation, but they could not be reached for comment.)

Mendes, who was last seen in the wonderfully trippy Holy Motors has no other films on her docket at the moment, so the timing of How To Catch a Monster (which is slated to begin filming in May) would fit in nicely with her enviable schedule of being Gosling's girlfriend.
