APC agrees to hold talks with Taliban

The political parties in APC organised by ANP have agreed to hold talks with the Taliban.

SLAMABAD  – Awani National Party organised All Parties Conference on Thursday to discuss the issue of holding talks with Taliban, and to chalk out a national policy and agenda for eradication of terrorism from the country.


Twenty six political parties, including PPP, PML-N and JUI-F, participated in the APC.


The National Tribal Jirga was also invited in the APC on the suggestion of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Malulana Samiul Haq demanded to hold unconditional talks with the Taliban.


Earlier, opening the conference‚ ANP Chief Asfand Yar Wali Khan stressed to adopt a collective strategy to overcome the menace of terrorism. He said terrorism was not the problem of the present government only‚ adding future governments would also have to face it.



Asfand Yar Wali Khan said the purpose of the conference was to learn from the collective wisdom of political leaders.
